Outline: Before we can do anything with Python, we have to learn the language first.

In this case, John led everyone to begin this new journey by solving a problem with Python. He provided an exercise to build a Twitter clone and deploying it to Heroku. During this process, people learned:

- Python syntax and control structures

- How to create a web application backed by a database

- How to deploy that application to Heroku
