After our discussion last night of R packages for different essential NLP operations I came across this package called Rstem, which provides an implementation of the Porter stemmer with language-specific modifications for a number of European languages (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Russian, and Finnish).
